Rural Economic Assistance League, Inc. (REAL Inc.) is licensed by the Department of Health to provide skilled nursing at home to homebound patients. All orders are given by the family’s doctor; our registered nurse, LVN or home health aide follows the doctor’s plan of treatment. These services are billed to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance, which require authorizations and deductibles met. Eligibility for these services requires a doctor’s order. No age limit applies.

Waiver Program
REAL, Inc. has a contract with the Texas Department of Human Services. This program provides home and community based services to persons age 21 and older who would qualify for Nursing Facility (NF) care. The goal is to provide individuals with meaningful choices regarding long-term care services; avoid premature Nursing Facility (NF) placement; and provide current nursing facility (NF) residents an opportunity to return to the community. Determination is based on the medical and functional limitations of an individual, with safety being the major factor in these considerations. These services are billed to Managed Care Organizations (MCO's), Superior, Evercare, etc.
Non-Waiver Program
REAL, Inc. has a contract with the Texas Department of Human Services to place an attendant or provider in the home to help with personal home care services. Eligible persons must receive SSI and all referrals must go through the Department of Human Services offices. These services are billed to Managed Care Organizations (MCO's), Superior, Evercare, etc.
Star Kids Program
REAL, Inc. has a contract with Medicaid Managed Care Organizations. This program provides temporary relief from care giving to the Primary caregiver of a waiver participant during those hours when the caregiver is at work, in job training, or at school. Eligibility is established by CMS.
